Homes built at the pace of the mid-2000s were finished quickly, and the plumbing behind the drywall reflects that: press and crimp fittings installed fast, angle stops from the lowest bidder, and water heaters that are now fifteen to twenty years old.
Boom-era water heaters are at replacement age across the plan; we check the connections and shutoffs around the unit, which are often the same age.
